I was born and raised in Oakland, California, and took to art at an early age, including drawing, lettering, photography and making amateur movies. After high school, junior college and working six years full-time as a commercial sign painter, I attended California College of the Arts and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design.

Art direction, design, typography and illustration of Google clients’ web and email marketing communications for Google products including: Google Assistant, Home, Maps, My Business, G Suite, Fi, EDU, Express/Shopping, Growth Lab, Partners, and Ads (AdWords). Design and production of large scale internal infographics. Design and production of brand guidelines. Logotype and icon design. Design and production of presentation materials and pitch decks.

Accomplishments: Helped to build and expand both Google and Delta client work for Epsilon teams.

Accomplishments: Contributed to Creative Lab in-house agency Google design and brand work and its success within and outside the company.

(1994–2002)

Redesign of the Communication Arts identity and the print publication in Spring 1995. Design, art direction, production and proofreading of CA magazine editorial, plus collateral, print advertising, direct mail, web banner ads and other brand materials. Contributing writer (Typography articles, book reviews) and contributing photographer (portrait, table top, and advertising).

Accomplishments: Worked on 58 issues of Communication Arts magazine and contributed to its growth in readership through the redesign of the publication, design and production of it's marketing promotions in print and online, in addition to contributing editorial magazine content.

Adobe Typographic Staff (Digital Font Editor): Type 1 PostScript conversion of digital typefaces under license with original type foundries including Monotype (UK) and Berthold (Germany).

Adobe Marcomm Group (Designer): Design and production of Adobe marketing publications for print including Font & Function magazine.

Accomplishments: Contributed to Adobe's Typographic Library, marketing publications and it's success in the marketplace as a leader in high quality digital typefaces.
